I saw the possibility of this shot from the banks of the run-off at the bottom of the falls. I clambered over the boulders to find the right spot, and braced my foot against the rock in the foreground and braced my back against a similar boulder behind me. Then it was just a question of waiting til the tourists were in the right spot and not too numerous. I wanted to keep one or two in shot to give an idea of the scale: the vertical height of the falls is about a third of a mile.
For a hand-held shot at 1/30s, I was very pleased with the sharpness.
